Getting Started 4
Is there a free trial?
Yes! Download Tengai POS from Google Play and enjoy a full 14-day free trial with all features enabled. No credit card required. After 14 days choose your plan.
What devices does Tengai POS work on?
Tengai POS works on any Android phone or tablet. It also fully supports mobile POS hardware brands: Telpo, Sunmi, Rongta, iMin, OCOM and more. It auto-detects the internal receipt printer on supported devices.
Is there a web version?
Yes. Login to the Tengai POS web app at pos.tengaipos.com from any browser on PC, Mac, or mobile.
How do I create an account?
Download the app from Google Play, open it and register with your email, business name, and contact details. Your 14-day free trial starts immediately.
Offline Mode 3
Does Tengai POS work without internet?
Yes! Tengai POS has a full offline mode. Before disconnecting, browse all main pages at least once so the data caches on your device. You can then add products, record sales and purchases, process due collections, and view all pages while offline.
How does data sync when I reconnect?
When you reconnect to the internet, Tengai POS automatically syncs all data. If you have a slow network, use the manual sync button in Settings to force an immediate update.
What can I do while offline?
You can add products, record sales and purchases, process due collections, view all existing pages, and print receipts via Bluetooth. You must be online at least once first to cache the data.
Subscriptions & Payments 5
How do I subscribe?
Open Tengai POS โ Settings โ Subscription โ Update Now. Select your desired plan, click Pay Now and pay using your preferred method.
What payment methods are accepted?
EcoCash, InnBucks, O'mari, OneMoney, ZimSwitch, Mukuru Money, and VISA. VISA supports automatic recurring payments. All other methods require manual renewal.
What plans are available?
Monthly ($9.99/month), 6-Month ($51.99 โ save $8), and Annual ($89.99/year โ save $30). All plans include all features.
Can I cancel my subscription?
Yes, you can cancel anytime from within the app. Monthly subscriptions stop at the next billing cycle. No prorated refunds are issued for unused time.
What happens if my subscription expires?
Your data is preserved and you can view existing records. New sales and additions are paused until you resubscribe from Settings โ Subscription.
Printing 4
How do I connect a Bluetooth printer?
Open Tengai POS on your device, go to Settings and turn on the Printing Option. Make a sale and select your printer from the Bluetooth devices that appear. Make sure your printer is on and Bluetooth is enabled.
Which printer sizes are supported?
Tengai POS supports 58mm and 80mm thermal paper sizes. Auto-connect saves your preferred printer.
Can I use a USB printer on Windows?
Yes. Download the appropriate Windows driver from our Resources page (58mm or 80mm). Install it and your printer will be available via USB connection.
Which printer brands are compatible?
Any standard Bluetooth or USB thermal receipt printer. Dedicated POS devices from Telpo, Sunmi, Rongta, iMin, and OCOM have automatic printer detection built in.

What do I do if I forget my password?
Click Forgot Password on the login screen and enter the email you registered with. A password reset link will be emailed to you instantly. Click the link, set a new password, then log back in.
Can I have multiple users?
Yes. You can add multiple users with different roles (e.g. cashier, manager). Each user has their own login credentials and access controls.
Is my data secure?
Yes. All data synced to the cloud is encrypted in transit (SSL/TLS) and at rest using Firebase (Google). You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.
Can I use Tengai POS on multiple devices?
Yes. Multiple devices can be logged into the same account. Data syncs across all devices when online.
Multi-Branch (v2.1.5+) 3
What is Multi-Branch Management?
Introduced in v2.1.5, Multi-Branch allows you to create and manage multiple shop locations from one account. Assign users to branches, set different prices per branch, transfer stock between branches, and compare branch performance.
Can each branch have its own invoice?
Yes. Each branch can have its own invoice header, footer, logo, and email settings.
Is Multi-Branch available on all plans?
Multi-Branch features are available on all active subscription plans.
